Post #12B - Project 3 Refinement/ Storyboard/ Character Design

This is a revised and more detailed storyboard of the one previously posted. A lot of the story has remained the same, though the toothbrush and soap dispenser characters have been cut.

Synopsis: The revised story begins with Jeffery sleeping from a side angle, to show a bit more of the scenery and make it more apparent that we're in a bathroom. (I may do a ease in of the entire scene to introduce the scene to the audience.) Jeffery then hears a noise  and looks down, seeing a spider there he recoils in fear. Jeffery is afraid of spiders. (Not Shown in storyboard: You then see a view of the spider trying to climb out of the tub and slipping several times.) Jeffery looks down again and decides to help the spider, he looks around and finds dental floss and lowers some down to the spider, the spider sees it, latches on, and begins to be raised. Jeffery feels tugging on the line and looks down, the spider has tangled himself in the floss and looks not too happy about it. When the spider is pulled all the way up, Jeffery pulls on the floss and the spider goes spinning, then pops up, untangled and happy. They hug and the scene fades out.

Theme: The theme of my story is that friendship can happen in very unlikely places, and it is always worth helping someone in trouble, even if you may not like them or in Jeffery's case, are afraid of them.

Above was the first concept drawings of the two characters, and have since been refined, but the set will remain the same. It is a generic bathroom and the bathtub is the main scene, the rest is just decoration that may be viewed from different camera angles.

A bit more refined character designs, The spider has less legs now, and no feet, and Jeffrey looks a bit less like the generic rubber duck and has a more cute/ innocent feel to him. Both characters are meant to be almost child-like in appearance so that is what I changed their designs more to reflect.
